Baby N
Sorry again, it’s been a while! Life has been pretty crazy the past few months, to say the least. My husband and I bought a house (finally) and I’ve signed up to do some correspondence courses in my free time, so most of my mental and physical energy has been going into those things. But, one of the exciting things that has been in the back of my mind to blog about has been the birth of little baby N. Baby N is a gorgeous little boy born way back in September to some friends of ours from University .
I was delighted to be able to do a newborn shoot with this little guy and his proud mama. These are just a very few of my favs. There were so many!! Baby N was only 10 days old :)
Look at those baby blue eyes, and that blond hair!
Love how this one turned out…
and of course, the sweet little baby bottom :)
Thanks Mama, it was an absolute pleasure working with you both!
Caitlin & Dylan | Anytime Session
Sorry it’s been a while… again! Clearly I need to get my act together :) Anyways, I have some photos to share from this past August.
I did a session with my good friends, Dylan and Caitlin. We tried to schedule this session a few times but things kept getting in the way. Finally we picked a date, only to find out that Dylan and Cate made dinner plans prior. But in an attempt to keep the appointment and still have nice lighting conditions, we decided we’d go for early in the morning instead of later in the day. Unfortunately for me, I also had an 11.5 hour wedding the day before where I was assisting Lisa Kwan of Lisa Kwan Images (go check her out ’cause she rocks) so it was pretty hard to drag my tired butt out of bed at 6 am. But it all ended well and was so much fun.
In other news, I found out that day that Dylan accepted a job in California and they will be moving out there this October! Dylan and Cate, I’m so happy you guys liked your photos, and I am sorry to see you move away! I will miss you and will hopefully take a trip out to see you and enjoy the nice California weather :)
Doors Open Toronto
I know I’ve been a bad blogger lately… I’m sorry!!! In an effort to catch up I’ll do a few new postings over the next couple weeks.
Here are some of the photos I took waaaay back in May during the Doors Open event in Toronto. (On that note, wow summer is going by fast! Don’t know about you, but it’s been pretty rainy and cloudy here most of the summer. Here’s hoping August picks up…)
The Adirondacks
This past long weekend (Victoria Day in Canada) my husband and I went to the Adirondacks to go hiking. We did the same last year with a couple of friends and had a blast hiking and hanging out. It seemed like a nice tradition so we decided to try and do it each May long weekend. This year was a little tricky… hubby was in the Ukraine on business for the week beforehand, getting in on the Friday night, and I was trying to get over a back injury. But we pushed through and went ahead with the weekend.
The weather could have been better, and I was limited by my back, but we got out and got away from things. We stayed at a nice little B&B called Keene Valley Lodge. They had a great fireplace that was perfect for relaxing in front of with a bottle of wine… A perfect way to spend a rainy evening. Overall, it was nice to be back and I think it’s safe to say we’ll try to go each year that we can.
And of course I took some pictures of our time there… Here’s a little piece of the Adirondacks High Peaks region :)

Clara & Montana | Family Portraits
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting a family portrait session with Clara and her daughter Montana. Clara and I used to work together a few years ago. It was fun catching up and hearing the latest news of my old workplace.
This was the first family portraits I have done, so I was very excited to try something new. Everyone was great and enthusiastic, which of course made my job easier. We really lucked out with the weather, it was a baking hot 27C, which felt a little odd for end of April. And just as we were finishing up our portraits the clouds were moving in. Luckily we were all done by the time the massive thunderstorm moved in… The wind and sudden rain was crazy. Very tornado like! But all in all it was a success!
Clara and Montana, I am so happy you chose me to do this session. I had a blast hanging with you guys… and talking a little Twilight :P
Here are some of my favs from the day:

Bethany & Chris | Engaged
I have known Bethany since my last year in high school. I actually knew her mom first, as she was my 12th grade English teacher. Bethany and I bonded instantly in the next year’s English class. After graduation I went to university in Toronto and Bethany went to Guelph for Veterinary Sciences. But her love of drama called her back to Toronto to attend their program where I was studying. Once reunited, Bethany, my husband (boyfriend at the time), and I decided to become roommates. We rented a tiny 1 bedroom apartment just off campus. That’s right… ONE bedroom. Bethany lived in the bedroom and my husband and I lived in the separate living room. We shared a bathroom and a kitchen, and a small narrow hallway. It was an odd choice, but you couldn’t beat the price! We lasted for 2 years together until the hubby and I ran off and got married. Based on our following year and the terrible landlords we had, we should have stayed put!
Anyways, after being abandoned by us, Bethany found Chris. They were in a play together but didn’t share any scenes, so it was a while before they randomly met up. They became friends first and some time later, found themselves single and interested. My husband and I met him, and as pseudo parents we judged him, and we deemed him to be acceptable. He actually thought seemed like the perfect match. They had so much in common, both actors and ridiculously talented, good looking, happy, out-going… etc etc etc. We were thrilled when we heard they were engaged and I immediately knew I had to take engagement photos for them. I knew with their personalities that it would be such fun, and I was so right. They made my job a little too easy… they were far too practiced in front of the camera :) Which is why I think my favorite pics from the day are the ones where I caught them off guard, just being themselves.
Guys I had so much fun and I’m so happy you love your photos. Can’t wait for the wedding day :)
And without further delay, here are some of my favs from the day…

Juveria & Mike | Married!
It’s taken me almost a month to blog this, but here it is! Juveria and Mike were finally married on March 27, 2009, and again for good measure, on March 28 :) The first night was the Muslim ceremony at a banquet hall in Brampton, followed by the “Western” ceremony on the Saturday night at the Boiler House in the Distillery District. Both nights were a lot of fun, and so very different from each other! The food and the details were also so different but so amazing both nights.
As I’ve mentioned before, I was not the photographer at their wedding. My BFF, Carleah Phoenix-Goddard was there with her partner in crime to document both days. So I just sat back and relaxed, and definitely enjoyed myself! As a result, I only managed to get a few shots over both days. Anyways, here are the ones that I thought were “post worthy”.
From the first night:

Some from the second night:

Mike and Juveria, I had such a fabulous time. Truly, I haven’t had so much fun in a while… It was the perfect expression of you both. I’m so happy you’re finally married :)
Come one, come all…
I just opened up a new shop on Etsy.com and I’m super excited about it! I am working on getting more and more listings up, but have about 6 so far.
Etsy is such a great website for purchasing handmade, one-of-a-kind items. You can also find unique vintage items and even supplies for your own crafts. It’s also a great place for inspiration for your own hobbies.
But I warn you, if you’ve never visited the site, prepare to spend hours there :D
Swing by and check me out: betweenthelinesphoto.etsy.com
